About Code Fifteen
Code Fifteen is a rugby × lifestyle brand built on heritage, connection, and the values of the game.
It was created with a simple belief: rugby already has its own kind of cool — it just needs a brand that represents it properly. No clichés. No forced trends. Just genuine storytelling, subtle design, and a deep respect for the sport’s past and present.

What's in the name?
The name Code Fifteen is rooted in the origins of rugby itself.
In 1871, when the laws of the game were first formalised, the original document referred to them as “the code”. That detail — a small phrase tucked into the sport’s earliest history — became the inspiration for the brand name.
“Code” honours rugby’s beginnings.
“Fifteen” honours the players on the field.
From there, the visual identity grew. The looping, heritage-inspired typeface in “Code” nods directly to that 1871 document. The italicised C brandmark comes from vintage match programmes — the kind of old-school printed treasures you’d find in a shoebox from the 1950s or ’60s.
Every part of the brand connects back to rugby’s culture, history, and character.
What do we stand for?
Code Fifteen exists for the people who love rugby — not just watching it, not just playing it, but living it. The ones who recognise a pair of cauliflower ears from across the coffee shop. The ones who can name the hero of the ’97 Lions tour or remember where they were the first time they saw Jonah Lomu run over half a pitch.
The brand is built on three principles:
1. Subtle identity
You shouldn’t have to look like you’re in full kit to show you’re part of the rugby world. Code Fifteen designs clothing that feels rugby — without shouting it.
2. Bringing heritage in a modern way
Old match programmes. Iconic players. Historic moments. Legendary lines like “a hooligan’s game played by gentlemen.”
Rugby’s past is rich — and we celebrate it thoughtfully, not cheaply.
3. Community
The sport is about people. Team-mates who become family. Coaches who shape you. Opponents you respect. Communities that look out for one another. Code Fifteen is built for that culture. It's for anyone who carries rugby with them — on the pitch, in the pub, at the gym, or in everyday life.
4. Integrity
Rugby is a game built on honesty, fairness, and respect — values that shape Code Fifteen from the ground up.
Integrity for us means creating product we can stand behind with complete pride: well-made, responsibly sourced, built to last, and never cutting corners for the sake of speed or trend. It means being transparent about what we do, caring about the processes behind each piece, and making decisions that reflect the spirit of the sport we represent.
Founder story
Code Fifteen was founded by Scott Smith, whose relationship with rugby began at eight years old and never let go.
Rugby shaped everything — his friends, his opportunities, even the country he moved to and the life he built there. It gave him teammates who became lifelong brothers, led him into coaching, took him abroad, and eventually earned him a cap for the Dutch national team. And when he entered the world of professional sportswear, rugby stayed at the centre of his work.
Across years at Nike, ASICS, and Canterbury, Scott helped create some of the sport’s most memorable jerseys: from England’s 2010 Centenary shirt to Mandela’s centenary Sevens jersey to the 2019 World Cup-winning Springbok kit. Rugby has always given something back — every single time he’s put something into it.
Code Fifteen is his way of returning the favour.
